Legal Beagles (A Golden and a Corgi’s Influence)
I have noticed a trend of attorneys who are using their dogs in their television commercials and billboards as a way to advertise their practice.
So, I have decided to jump right on that bandwagon and do the same thing. However, I want to take a more personal approach. My law firm is based on the notion that personal attention is better. Therefore, it is my first goal to get to know my clients, personally, to better understand your legal needs. This blog allows you to get to know me and my staff before you even walk through my front door. So here it is, an introduction to our firm dogs, McCoy and Theo.Meet Theo and Mccoy
Theo belongs to Jessie, Thompson Law, P.A.’s legal research assistant. Theo is a 7 year-old Welsh Corgi, and was adopted by Jessie when he was just a puppy. The name “Theo” is short for “Thelonious Monk,” the jazz pianist and composer. Wherever Theo goes, he acts as the resident police officer, making sure all humans and dogs are behaving themselves up to his standards. But do not let those cute short legs, big attentive ears, and furry cuteness fool you, Theo can be quite the bad boy. Theo has been known to devour entire boxes of treats in a single sitting if left unattended. Watching Jessie and Theo together is such a joy. They are two peas in a pod and always seem to be looking out for each other. Jessie often dresses Theo in one of his many bowties (as seen in the pictures). As if Theo was not cute enough on his own, she adds a bowtie and he becomes irresistible to any passerby.
Now meet McCoy. McCoy is my dog, and if you “Like” the Thompson Law, P.A., you will know that McCoy makes frequent appearances. McCoy is approximately 7 years old and he is a Golden Retriever. I say “approximately” because McCoy is a rescue that sort of fell into my lap a little over six years ago. McCoy is named after the hard-nosed and fierce prosecutor, Jack McCoy, played by Sam Waterston on the television series, Law & Order. When I got McCoy, I was a prosecutor in Volusia County, and the name seemed more than appropriate. McCoy is loving, flirty, sweet, charming, and funny. McCoy has never met a stranger, and anyone who spends more than a few seconds with him immediately falls in love, as did I the day I met him.To Say That Mccoy Is My Co-Pilot Is an Understatement
McCoy and I have weathered many storms together, we have enjoyed many successes, but no matter what life has in store, we have always stood right by each other’s side. This is why I have decided to introduce you to our dogs. Getting to know them allows you to get to know us. They are not just cute faces. Theo and McCoy provide Jessie and I the mental stability and emotional balance to handle such a high stress job. These dogs greet us after we have our respective hard days and seem to melt away the day and allow us to focus on the love that our dogs give us and the love we return to them.
